Hey, Calvary Fremont –
We walked away from Calvary
And tried to wash the blood away
It stained our hands, our mind, our soul
It cried out from the ground we trod
Sent from God? “No way,” we cried
Would-be Messiah crucified
We walked away from Blood-Stained Hill
“It is finished; He is gone.”
The Father looked on Calvary
And saw His Son in agony
Man’s hatred pierced His hands and feet
God’s wrath upon the Son was laid
Sent from God? The Father cried,
“Crushed for sin and crucified.
Bearing guilt and mankind’s shame.
It is finished, I am pleased.”
That Blood-Stained Hill pleased man and God
What Man thought done had just begun
The death of Christ, the death of sin
Brought resurrection’s righteousness
A Blinding Light soon filled the land
“He is risen! He is here!
The Crucified and Risen One
Becomes Forgiveness for all who come.
Come to the Crucified One
Come to the Risen One
Believe that God raised Him from the dead
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
