3.22.25
Hey, Calvary Fremont –
Reading the Bible makes you a student.
Obeying the Bible makes you a disciple.
Not all students of the Bible are disciples of Jesus.
To read the Bible is to gain knowledge of the Bible.
To obey the Bible is to gain the wisdom of God.
The knowledge of the Bible is good. The wisdom of God is better.
Knowledge of the Bible keeps you in the intellectual dimension.
Obedience to God brings you into the experiential, existential dimension.
Wisdom is the fruit of knowledge and experience, not of knowledge alone.
Knowledge without the wisdom that comes from obedience will make you a Pharisee – a legalist; or a Sadducee – a ritualist; or a heretic – a self-willed person; or leave you a babe in Christ – a spiritual infant.
Bible knowledge doesn’t form your soul.
Obedience to God forms your soul.
In the Church, we have more students than disciples.
In the Church, we have more knowledge than wisdom.
Become a wisdom-filled disciple of Jesus by obeying the commands of Jesus.
This is the greatest need of the hour.
Be blessed and stay healthy and follow Jesus – Pastor Tim
