September 12, 2025 / Charlie Kirk

9.12.25

Hey, Calvary Fremont –

Charlie Kirk was shot to death two days ago on Wednesday, September 10. Charlie was an Evangelical Christian and a well known, influential conservative political activist. He spoke Truth, which means he spoke with Authority. The opposite of Truth is Falsehood. Falsehood has no Authority – it only has Power. Truth has no need of the Sword to gain the field. Falsehood can only triumph with the Sword. And even that triumph is short-lived.

History can be viewed through the lens of Authority v Power. Kings had Power, whereas the People had Authority. The Authority of the People has triumphed over the Power of the Kings. The Pope had the Power of the Church, whereas Martin Luther had the Authority of a conscience submitted to Scripture. The Authority of a conscience submitted to Scripture has prevailed over the Power of the Pope. Christianity is sustained by the Authority of God, whereas Islam, without the Power of the Sword would collapse within decades.

Charlie Kirk was a Prophet of the Truth standing against the Power of the State. Throughout history – both sacred and secular – Power has sought to silence the voice of Authority. Charlie Kirk died a Prophet’s death, assassinated by Power.

The weapons of Power are money, popularity, success, intimidation, threat, violence. People seek to multiply these things in order to increase their Power. The weapons of Authority are truth, character, vision, and selflessness. Don’t seek to increase your Power; seek to grow in Authority.

Thank you, Charlie Kirk, for a life well-lived. In the long run, no one can kill Authority.

Be blessed and stay healthy and follow Jesus – Pastor Tim
